Information You Provide

• License Key: When you purchase a license, you may enter a license key to unlock premium features.
• Email Address (optional): You may provide an email address during license activation for verification purposes.

Information Collected Automatically

• Website Analytics: When you visit the Website, GoatCounter records aggregate page visits, referrers, campaign parameters, browser/system/language/screen width, approximate location, and configured click events such as download and purchase clicks. GoatCounter does not use cookies, localStorage, or tracker IDs, and does not store IP addresses or full user-agent headers.
• Lid Sensor Data: The App reads your MacBook's lid angle sensor to trigger automation rules. This data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or third parties.
• App Context Data: The App monitors which applications are currently running to enforce app-specific automation rules. This information is processed locally and never leaves your device.
• Machine Fingerprint: A cryptographic hash of your Mac's hardware identifiers is generated locally to prevent license sharing. This fingerprint cannot be used to identify you personally.

Information Stored on Your Device

• User Preferences: Your settings, automation rules, and shortcuts are stored locally in your Mac's UserDefaults.
• License Credentials: Your license key, instance ID, and signed entitlement certificate are stored securely in your Mac's Keychain.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (lid angle monitoring and automation)
• Validate and manage your software license
• Prevent fraud and unauthorized license sharing
• Understand aggregate Website visits, referrers, campaigns, and key link clicks
• Improve the App's performance and reliability

3. Third-Party Services

GoatCounter

We use GoatCounter for privacy-friendly Website analytics. GoatCounter provides aggregate visit, referrer, campaign, and click-event statistics for the Website without cookies or cross-site visitor profiles. Your use of the Website is subject to GoatCounter's Privacy Policy.

LemonSqueezy

We use LemonSqueezy (a service provided by LemonSqueezy, LLC) to process payments and manage software licenses. When you activate or validate a license:

• Your license key and machine fingerprint are sent to LemonSqueezy's servers (api.lemonsqueezy.com)
• LemonSqueezy may collect your email address if provided during purchase
• Your use of LemonSqueezy is subject to their Privacy Policy

We do not store your payment information (credit card details, etc.) on our servers. All payment processing is handled directly by LemonSqueezy.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local-First Architecture: The App is designed with a privacy-first approach. All automation data, sensor readings, and app context information are processed and stored locally on your device.
• Keychain Storage: Sensitive license credentials are stored in Apple's secure Keychain.
• No In-App Telemetry: The App does not include analytics, tracking, or telemetry. We do not monitor how you use the App.
• Limited Network Calls: The App does not require an internet connection for its core functionality. Network requests are only made for license validation and software update checks.
• Aggregate Website Analytics: Website analytics are limited to aggregate GoatCounter reports for visits, referrers, campaigns, and configured click events.

5. Data Retention

• License Data: We retain your license validation records on LemonSqueezy's servers as long as your license is active or as required by law.
• Local Data: All locally stored data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or delete the data manually.
• Deactivation: When you deactivate your license, your instance is removed from LemonSqueezy's systems, though they may retain purchase records for accounting purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (note that this may deactivate your license).
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.

7. Children's Privacy
