Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lid (the "App"), a macOS application developed by Alex Tan ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your personal Mac computer(s), subject to these Terms.

• Free Tier: You may use the App's free features at no cost, including one customizable rule, screen blur, media pause, and menu bar integration.
• Lifetime Unlock: A one-time purchase of $4.99 unlocks premium features, including unlimited rules, app-context rules, schedule-based activation, Focus mode sync, and all future updates. This license is tied to your license key and may be activated on the number of devices specified at the time of purchase.

2. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except as permitted by applicable law
• Share, distribute, or sublicense your license key to others
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the App's license verification system
• Redistribute or resell the App

3. Payments and Billing

Payments for the Lifetime Unlock are processed by LemonSqueezy (LemonSqueezy, LLC), which acts as our Merchant of Record. By making a purchase, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service. LemonSqueezy handles all payment processing, tax calculation, and receipt generation.

We do not store or have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.). All payment data is handled by LemonSqueezy in accordance with their security standards.

4. Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund policy. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.

5. System Requirements

The App requires:

• macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later
• A MacBook with a compatible built-in lid angle sensor
• Accessibility permissions for display and system control features

We do not guarantee compatibility with all MacBook models. The App will display a compatibility message if your hardware is not supported.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Alex Tan and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or brand assets.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the App, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.
